The ending paragraph suggests my strategy of ignoring Ray might not be the best. Maybe it's a stretch to compare the banana man to this yahoo (oops sorry: yahya), but it's something to think about.

The article in general makes me think that we (re. society) need to spend more time, effort & money to educate people about science - and do it dispassionately. There may be flaws in the theory of evolution, but it's the scientific methodology that's being attacked - when you hold religious faith up against peer reviewed testable prediction, the winner is obvious.
"Polymath" means "having learned much"; the correct word for "having failed to learn much" is simply "Ray".

Good article, and it was encouraging to hear that there's at least one country in the world with a lower acceptance of evolution than the US. American fundamentalists have their work cut out for them if they are ever to catch up with the Muslims' evolution denialism, at least in Turkey.
