A good example of the path that personal revleation (you reading Sye?) leads too.

This whole fundamental LDS sect was well documented and discussed in "Under the Banner of Heaven" by Krakauer if anyone is interested.

Call me greedy, but I'm not satisfied. I care nothing for Jeffs. I'm thinking of all the others.

All those women, half-educated, living for nothing but manual labor and submissive sex.

All those girls, brought up to expect nothing better.

All those young men, driven from their homes so the old men can have the girls.

Babies with genetic deficiencies caused by inbreeding.

All those years that authorities in Utah, Colorado, and Texas looked the other way.

One life-plus sentence is not enough to balance the scales.

Not nearly enough.

Holy Shit, Wee... I really have not followed this story in particular or this fringe branch of Mormonism in general... that is just...

I agree with you.

This might help a little bit, then: (from the article)

"Jeffs is the eighth man to be convicted of crimes such as sexual assault and bigamy through evidence found in the raid on the Yearning for Zion Ranch. The other convicts' sentences have ranged from six to 75 years in prison."

@ lehman scott: Yes, I've followed the tales of the FLDSites off-and-on for years. Thoroughly depressing.

@ Quasar, yes that does help, thanks.

@ vagon, yes I should read that, have added it to my ever-growing list.

And now see what youse guys have done, it's been years since I've said yes to more than one guy at a time! ;)

I wonder if Craig's List has a section for this...
"Polymath" means "having learned much"; the correct word for "having failed to learn much" is simply "Ray".
