Blobfish:

Matt 6:24 - No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

I think what really put me off of Ray's site was when I saw him advertising some video of him evangelizing in London. I'm not against him evangelizing (I wish more would). I guess maybe I understand filming it for the purpose of training others how to do it, what to expect, etc. But when I saw that he was charging people for it and marketing it as entertainment;....I just could not reconcile that. It made no sense to me (and still doesn't).

I never would have picked out that aspect of the video to be annoyed at. I'm not saying I disagree or anything - it's simply a new perspective for me.

I don't encounter those very often. Thanks!

Thanks Chap for your take and Matt's as well.
I was a GFCK (God Fearin' Catholic Kid) growin' up, I guess I lost my faith through 'reasoning' as I grew up, but I think I was turned off more by religion by these so called 'Righteous Right', denouncin' other faiths n' science.

True, true. Well my question involves the idea of Heaven but I am also about to go out of town for a little over a week, so I probably won't see your response any time soon.

Let me ask here and you can start another post on it in the Religion section.

First, I am assuming you believe in free will and not predestination. Is that true?

If there is free will, will there be free will in Heaven? Can someone sin in Heaven?

Might I suggest that we keep the Foyer for introductions and libation, and move the interesting stuff elsewhere?

A little late to the party (cooler is definitely empty now), but welcome to the forum, Chap!

Beamstalk,

Actually, I do believe in predestination.

Would you like me to go ahead and address your questions regarding free-will in heaven in the Religion section, or would you like to change/alter your question?

Either way is fine and we can talk about it in the religion section and not here.

Have a good, safe trip.

It's been around 3 years since I've posted. I needed to take a break and deal with some stuff from my deployment. Catching up, I did a year residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, working mostly with their burn unit and the Center For the Intrepid there. Now I am up in Washington State at JBLM and have been the Chaplain for the Warrior Transition Battalion (wounded warriors) for 2 years.

Looking forward to re-engaging the discussion(s) here, which I have always found to be good.

As ever, always open to discussion, debate, questions, and friendship.
