Really? Blimey. Be interested to hear which tracks - they're a genuine example of a band that has evolved. Mind you, I'm hideously biased.

BTW, you can legally download an 8 track sampler containing some of their best (IMO) tracks from here.

Current listening: Secret Machines (eponymous third album). Fabulous stuff.

Kayleigh, Lavender, This Train is my Life, Woke up, Essence, Childhood's End, Thunder Fly & Market Square Heros.

I was very impressed with Thunder Fly.

I will definitely check out more of the tracks off of Happiness is the Road.

Cool!

Kayleigh (beugh! Horrible, horrible ballad of blandness), Lavender, Childhood's End and Market Square Heroes all come from the 80s incarnation with the first singer, Fish. All the others come from Happiness is the Road; Thunderfly comes from Vol 2: The Hard Shoulder, which is probably a bit more rocking than Vol 1: Essence from which the others are taken.

If you liked Thunder Fly, I'd suggest tracking down Cannibal Surf Babe, Separated Out, Whatever Is Wrong With You, Hard as Love, The Damage (Live), Under the Sun or Three Minute Boy - they're more on the rocking side of their output.

I'll mix up the genres, but here we go.

Rush
Bach
Hank Williams
Charlie Parker
and... John Prine pops in.

Here's mine:

Radiohead
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
Arcade Fire
The Roots

Shit, now I have to go dust off a big heap of MP3s and listen to them all....
