Blood Moon BS

Postby E-lad » Thu Aug 13, 2015 6:08 pm

So, Saturday night I got bit by bees...theeeeennnnn..Tuesday evening I jumped off my tractor and sprained my goddamned ankle. Lucky me. So I have been sitting on the couch watching TV for the last two days letting my ankle heal up, and of course I tuned into the Xtian stations to see what BS they were spouting.
The Blood moon stuff is all over the place..
Get this, within a two hour period on one channel John Haggee was whipping his people into a frenzy to get ready for the last Blood Moon on Sept 16th (I think.) And a half hour later there was a guy saying the blood moon thing was natural occurrence (which it is) and that it was in no way a supernatural sign from God.
I checked some fundie sites on the net and the same thing- they are all over the board on this. Funny how the inerrant word of God can be interpreted in so many different ways.

The Blood Moon crowd is saying that something very important will happen in Israel in the next two years..That's giving themselves a lot of wiggle room since no two year period goes by that something important doesn't happen in Israel.
Now on to the moron Jim Bakker and his sycophants are telling his audience to buy his survival food because the end times will start with the September Blood Moon. He's absolutely going mad over this. It would be funny if it weren't so damned deranged.

It boggles my mind that anyone pays attention to these morons, but they do, and lots of them. Crazy shit.

I suppose if the Palestinians and Israelis pulled a Middle Eastern version of Northern Ireland peace process and put all the religious infighting behind them that could be considered as something important happening. This is not impossible. The Irish Catholics of Ireland could teach the Palestinians a few lessons on what real oppression is at the hands of the Protestant Irish landlords and their English backers going back to the days of Oliver Cromwell. The only people put out would be a lot of middle class champagne socialist students because they would have nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon anymore.

You know something, you don't part live life! Every day an adventure.

As for the Blood Moon 'Jesus is coming tomorrow' ,like the sun in Little Orphan Annie (the denouement: you're always a day away), don't they ever get fed up of constantly being wrong? Besides, they are being all unbiblical. Trying to use their mortal fallible minds to work out the Hour is a big no no because only the Father knows. Ref :
Matthew 24:36

1) I thought Jim Bakker was dead! I'm not being funny, I did really.
2) If the Rapture happens what will happen to the money he makes after the end times? Unless he doesn't think he's going to be whisked off with the saints. . .
Oh, dear!
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? (Epicurus circa:300 BC)

Jim Bakker is a real piece of scum:

[Bakker] between 1984–1987 underwent scrutiny by The Charlotte Observer newspaper, eventually leading to criminal charges against Jim Bakker. From 1984 to 1987, Bakker and his PTL associates sold $1,000 "lifetime memberships", which entitled buyers to a three-night stay annually at a luxury hotel at Heritage USA. According to the prosecution at Bakker's later fraud trial, tens of thousands of memberships had been sold, but only one 500-room hotel was ever completed. Bakker sold more "exclusive partnerships" than could be accommodated, while raising more than twice the money needed to build the actual hotel. A good deal of the money went into Heritage USA's operating expenses, and Bakker kept $3.4 million in bonuses for himself. A $279,000 payoff for the silence of Jessica Hahn [his mistress], who was introduced to Bakker by the evangelist John Wesley Fletcher, was paid with PTL's funds to Hahn through Bakker associate Roe Messner

Jerry Falwel took over that ministry and called Bakker " a liar, an embezzler, a sexual deviant, and the greatest scab and cancer on the face of Christianity in 2,000 years of church history" (Bakker had been accused of raping Jessica Hahn)

Bakker ended up convicted of fraud and served six years in federal prison and still owes the IRS six million bucks.
His ex wife Tammy Faye died while he was in prison.

He has been busy building a new little empire in Missouri but it is all owned by "associates" of his. It is quite the tangled web.

He's now on TV scaring the shit out of everybody he can so they will buy his survival food.

That reminds me of a musicians' joke. What do you do with a dead violist? Move him back one stand.

Jim and Tammy divorced while he was in prison in 1992. Jim was paroled in 1994. Tammy Faye actually died in 2007.

The Blood Moon thing is about par with Flat Earthism or A=440 is Nazi. Doesn't require a great deal of critical thinking to dispose of.
