So, This Happened

Postby E-lad » Fri Feb 03, 2017 3:02 pm

I was outside doing some chores this morning- pretty cold and I was wearing what we call up here, a Beanie, which can be any type of knit hat. Now, when you wear one of these, by the time you adjust it and scratch your head, etc, it leaves your hair looking pretty snarled.

So, I got done with my chores and headed out to WalMart to pick up a couple things and on exiting my car- my head was now hot- I took off the beanie and tossed it on the seat of the car.
I no more than got in the store, pushing my cart of which I dutifully wiped off the handle with the anti-bacterial wipes they provide, when I met a younger girl coming the other way. She flashed me the biggest smile and we exchanged hellos. I'm thinking, "Froggie, ya still got it" and the scenario repeated a couple times when a guy there stocking shelves glanced at me and gave me the ol double take......It was unmistakable. In that nano second I realized something was amiss, it all added up. In the next nanosecond it hit me- My Hair.
I could barely contain my hilarity at imagining what I looked like, but rather than try to smooth it out I decided to just go with it, just for the 'eck of it.
So I get to the checkout and there's this lady about 45 yo, kinda serious looking. She greets me. I see the look. She starts the process then glances up right to the top of my head. I said, "Are you staring at my hair?"

Finally relief! She got a good laugh and so did I. Theeeennnnn, I said "I can't wait to get to a mirror."
"I have a mirror right here," says she, and whips out a hand mirror. Yeah my hair looked like a nest of little up-side-down tornadoes which sparked another round of chuckles.

Made my day.
That is all.

Thanks, froggie. That helped make my day, too.

Better start checking those photos of people at Walmart web-sites. With smartphones everywhere nowadays you soon might be one of those "Walmart people".
